The Concept 

It is a broad analysis of what possession and property are, and the place of this magic earth that is coveted by other groups. The goal is not to uncover historical or anthropological data, but experience an allegorical fiction. The bucolic colors of the green areas of the farm and the rural area around Manaus create the aesthetic setting for both the fantastic and realistic elements of the plot.

Synopsis

The Kawa ethnic familiar group who lives on a farm on the outskirts of the city of Manaus, manufacturing potions and teas with grains from the black earth, cultivated by them, which holds extraordinary powers. Appreciated for its  extraordinary energetic and healing properties, the black earth is also a unifying factor and sustains the 

interconnection between the surrounding ethnic groups / relatives and ultimately arouses the curiosity and greed of others.

A Statement:

The Kawa’s Black Earth was born from an essential metaphor on the issue of land ownership by its natural owners, the indigenous people. It endows the earth element with powers and makes it a magnanimous source of energy. The four main characters, Uçana, Gatowo, Kandra and Turyná are indigenous people who belong to the Kawa ethnicity. They are also owners of a magical land, reminiscent of a kind of oneiric cinema. The Kawa develop spontaneous agricultural techniques and are heirs of the black earth myth and the telluric preparation of the land The primary themes of KAWA’S BLACK EARTH are the dialogues between nature and city, and the urban identity formation of indigenous groups.  The film focuses on the intersection of all of these themes that leads to a reflection on the land and property problems. The production project shall be simple and focus on working with local teams, investing in an indigenous cast and regional actors.
